    I actually had a dream about the update last night. I had a dream that you decided to start uploading three pages a day, and I got so excited to look at today’s three new pages, but they’d completely switched to a totally new story. It was kind of a newspaper funnies style comic with an art style similar to Dilbert. I just spent my dream madly clicking back and forth between the last update from Sunday and the three newspaper funny style comics uploaded today trying to find some sense of continuation but there wasn’t, just a blonde woman coming home from work and making newspaper funnies type quips at her husband.

    God… seeing the bruise on poor Rocky’s arm and the pain on her face, Jesus. Even as fast and efficiently as Shez acted, the amount of damage one stupid violent man could unthinkingly cause in seconds – to a helpless child who loves him, no less – is terrifying.
     

    So’s seeing Chris’ silhouette in Shez’s bad eye, and the final panel! Still – since the white background was last seen when Shez defiantly charged at the car a couple of panels ago, I’m hopeful that its reappearance symbolizes a shimmer of hope for the hero – it really stands out from the other really dark, grim-looking black-background panels.

    Oh no, Shez… I want to be happy that her plan worked. But geez. This is not going to end well.
     

    I feel sorry for Meriam… She did so much to make sure this would never happen again. In a way, Shez learned this move from her…
     

    I feel like this is a good time to tell you how thankful we all are that we didn’t have to wait an entire week for each page when basically every update is a cliffhanger.

      And yes absolutely, I had the same thought when making this chapter. I knew the weekly pace just wasn’t gonna suit the tone of this flashback.
       
      It’s been great seeing so many readers gripped by the story, though!
