    2. Actually, I looked up this thread (I thought the gender essays in the comments would be funny to be read, but good god they weren’t) and it seems like recently the sane women of reddit managed to help OP understand that she is lesbian. Fingers crossed she also peaked. 🀞

    3. I have a quick question, because I am super curious as to the thought process here. When you draw your ‘gendies’ (I think that’s what you call them) do you just put them in any random pride flag? Or is there some way you pick??? I recognize a lot of them and I notice sometimes you use them on someone who presents in the opposite way of what the flag is supposed to represent. I’m just curious to know if that’s intentional, randomized or something else entirely

      1. Can you show an example where I’ve done that? I can’t think of one. I pick the gender flags to match the gender having character, by searching “[identity] pride flag” in the image tab.

        1. It was the image posted here that got me thinking about it. An ace flag being used for a character seemingly reacting to someone’s romantic/sexual preference. I may be reading too much into the image or making the wrong conclusions. I may be misremembering others though, as its been a while since I read those pages. Either way thank you for answering the question. I appreciate it

        2. I just used the clearest image of Clancy which happens to be her being draped in the asexual flag after “re-coming out” as “ace panromanic” and “going by they/them”, despite actually being a lesbian.
Here are the three pages she has appeared: [x] [x] [x] to give you an idea of the images I had to work with when choosing an image of her to put side by side with the text post.

She is like the commenter in that she is using labels to obfuscate her homosexuality because she has been told it is bigoted to be homosexual, and does not want to be that way.

So by “sometimes do x” you meant an out-of-comic meme image in the comment section, or were there other examples? It’s always worth re-reading if you’re confused about something πŸ‘

        3. I think the previous commenter doesn’t realize that’s a pic of Clancy that you pulled straight from one of the previous comic pages and thinks the ace flag around her shoulders is supposed to represent something.

        4. You are correct!
I just thought there might be in-comic examples of it.

        5. Couldn’t she also be a lesbian and ace too? Some women are asexual and can still be in romantic relationships with other women too.

        6. No. You cannot be exclusively attracted to the same-sex and attracted to neither sex at the same time.
Sexual orientation is the sex(es) your attraction orients around, not how much sexual activity you want.

          Hetero – opposite sex
          Homo – same sex
Bi – two sexes (male and female).

Lesbians with low libidos, child lesbians, lesbians who are happy single, lesbians who just don’t want sex or relationships are still homosexual females.
I don’t believe in asexuality. But if it did exist it certainly wouldn’t apply to lesbians who pursue relationships but not sex. Romantic feelings are part of sexual orientation.

Ari’s doing the makeover in front of the whole crowd and making a spectacle of it? I could just see all the Jaden appreciators from the comments chanting “Take off her shorts! Take off her shorts!” if they were there.

  8. hey!
you probably get loads of these comments, ‘i found this comic from people calling it transphobic’, and here I am, another one.

but I actually turned out to really love it, the art is beautiful and the characters are so lovable. a good mix of light hearted wholesome everyday moments with some pretty deep topics. Genuinely an amazing work well done. I really loved the art of the jellyfish, and the sun shining through trees.
You have obtained a new fan, and I’ll be reading more as it comes out πŸ™‚

I’m very curious though about the thought behind it and I am asking this respectfully, are the trans characters supposed to be a reflection/caricatures of all trans people? Or just making fun of (if that’s the right way to put it) a certain type?

The first introduction of those trans fems trying to get in the club made me feel very uncomfortable in so many ways. for both sides. But I came to this comic looking to be uncomfortable and to learn. What if in that scenario, the trans fems showed no aggression to the bouncer and had no malicious plans? Would they still be portrayed in such a way to be disliked so much?
I know it’s such a massive issue with irl venues, but just because a few loud and horrible trans fems exist, I do feel a bit like this comic has oversighted and ignored that so many lovely nice LGBTQ+ people of all gender identities do exist, don’t force themselves down other peoples throats and act like respectful humans. and that just because some are stupid assholes, it doesn’t mean that they all are?

I am also very understanding that if a venue has policies for its guests, the guests are expected to stick to them, just like a dress code. If you’re not the type of person welcomed at a venue, then the venue isn’t for you.. and that should just be it. Any customer should be respectful of that, and because these trans fems got nasty about it -to a bouncer just doing their job, yeah, those types of people.. I’m all for making fun of them.

The …cult like behaviour from Blaire in her QT friend group really made me so uncomfortable, as do groups like that irl and it made me laugh. ..those types of people all cliquey and with their double standards making assumptions about other peoples identities and forcing it on them….. ughhhh you made it laughable, I loved it.

All the GNC women in this comic and how they are portrayed, the art is amazing and I loved every moment of reading it, you did such a good job. …also fictional women with leg hair …shocking …i’m in love.

And muddles?!?!?!? WHERE HAS SHE BEEN? I MISS HER!!

Sending you love and best wishes with the upcoming chapters <3

    1. Hello, welcome aboard and thanks for reading!

In the same vain as my rep of men, it’s a case of “it doesn’t have to be all, it is enough of them that it is causing harm”. Hell, you’ve just demonstrated that you’re among them, you called Jaden, who has explicitly been stated to be female “they”. Just like Blaire and the others, based on what? Her short hair? How she dresses?
All trans people/trans supporters mightn’t do this, but it’s enough of you.

In terms of the AGPgang, they would would certainly be less hated if they hadn’t threatened to sexually assault, and then actually physically assault Jaden. But them showing up at all is a problem. They know this is a women’s club, yet they got dressed in denim for the event night with every intention of getting in. They wanted to be around women who set about a boundary, because they think they deserve to identify into it.

Even if they hadn’t showed up, like every Trans identified male not drawn on the page they still call themselves women. As men, they have no business doing so as they are not and never will be female. The issue goes down to the root of transgender ideology. Thinking one can change their sex, and identify into or out of oppression/ and people’s sexualities by saying so.

So it doesn’t matter if all trans people do not behave as I portray them. Just like there’s plenty of kind, intelligent, well-meaning religious folk, it doesn’t change that their beliefs are founded on misogyny and homophobia. The trans characters were created to illustrate commonly held beliefs.
No character can be representative of all demographics they are a part of, surely you understand this right?

Try applying it to any other character. Do you think Jaden represents all children of Ghanaian immigrants? Of all black lesbians? Of all women over 6ft? Of all women who live in apartments? Of all university drop outs? Of all people living with a roommate? Of all people with younger brothers?
It sounds like a silly question to even ask, no?

I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the story though and that it’s made you laugh! That’s one of my biggest goals with my work, making women laugh and entertaining them.

Good on you for venturing into a place of discomfort too. It’s the best way to “know your enemy”.

Hope you continue to enjoy reading. Comment section is always open to ya.

  9. I know Jaden is a bit taller than most women, Ari, but I think stilts might be overkill πŸ˜…

    1. NOT STILTS. I love everyone guessing at what she is holding 🀣🀣

      1. Pinata stick? She’s gonna put a piece of paper with Jaden’s name on it in a paper mache man and watch the chaos unfold?

        1. Ok, not stilts and not a pinata for picking who gets to dance with her… πŸ€” Final guess, teeny tiny may pole for the short queens?

      2. No, even better one of the white roses! (pls say I got it, gonna be racking my brain all week πŸ˜…)

        1. Omg lmaoooo. I love the idea of her outfit falling out a pinata 🀣🀣🀣

I love how Jaden is a gentle giant πŸ€—πŸ€ she /looks/ like she’s resisting soooo hard, but Ari just pushes her around? πŸ₯°
    It’s so fun and cute.
