About This Project
Translating Lease Bound is an on-going, volunteer project that started in 2021. Our aim is to broaden the amount of women who can read and enjoy this comic by remaining as accurate to the source as possible.

(Disclaimer: Work on the real translation of the comic book “LeaseBound” began long before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The translator does not support the actions of the Russian Federation and opposes the war and discrimination against Ukrainians.)
Still In Progress
Not everything has been translated yet. As said before, every lovely translator has volunteered her time to this project for free, so each language translation is at various stages of competition. Real-life commitments always come first. Translation is also a slow process in general, for numerous reasons.
- Many words/phrases do not have direct translations, which means taking the time to discuss and find both accurate/contextually comparable replacements.
- This is especially tricky when it comes to vocabulary surrounding trans ideology. Many languages aren’t as easily bastardized as English!
- While translators undoubtedly have the harder job, my job of placing their translations onto each page is also tedious and slow going. Only so much can be done at a time with regards to my own real-life commitments, and keeping up with making the English comic.
