    Blaire’s whole mindset here is so patronising and she’s vastly overstepping boundaries, but I knew/know women like her, it really does come from a want to help or a protectiveness in a lot of cases. Also a performance of “being the best ally”, but a lot of them really want to help. It’s kind of heartbreaking to be honest.

    Blaire is an excellent antagonist-of-sorts and I trust Rusty to take the story where it needs to go, but as proxy for those women I know, I still wish her a change of heart. ^^’


    Also, is it just me or does the actual comic LeaseBound simply not show up when googling LeaseBound? Google gave me plenty of complaints about the comic existing, but I had to type the url directly to actually get here.

        It’s heartbreaking to see women believe in gender roles so strongly it makes them think anyone who wears pants/doesn’t shave/has short hair can’t be a woman, and to see women push gender roles onto their friends in the belief they’re helping. If seeing trans-identified people as human mandates pushing gender on everyone, that’s a problem, friend.

      Don’t worry, I posted that there. It was a test to see if other sites would allow LB without references to trans stuff.


      Plus ch10 feels like a great jumping in point imo because it’s soley a backstory you don’t spoil anything for the present day – while also getting to really KNOW the protag.

    Unrelated to the page, but Rusty, do you have any voice headcanons for the characters (or I guess just canons since you’re the creator)?

      You’re fine! I actually don’t- I remember getting an anon about it a few years ago. I tried to think about it but yeah, really can’t hear any of their voices tbh!

      Other than the fact the fast majority if them have Australian accents (since Josie and Nana were adults when moving to aus they probably don’t, for example).


      I love fantasizing about a LB dub though. And I think when picking voice actresses for that I really would just have to hear them first.

    I’m sensing this chapter will be the lead up to Riley standing up for herself more.

    Also, I hate how realistic it is that in the TQ Collective, Blair is treated as an interloper because she’s “cis” even though she’s one of the few actual same sex attracted people there. Although, I have a feeling that this coming chapter may make me lose interest in a Blair redemption arc.

      Not the reference I was going for, but you are correct that QT is intended to sound like Cutie. That’s why Blaire calls the other members ‘cuties’.

      The QT is meant to be for Queer and Trans.

    So… Hello, author
    (I’m sorry for my bad English, I’m a French teenager so that’s still kinda complicated for me to speak english-)

    I just want to tell you : Thank you so so so much. I really love your comic, must be my favorite of all times.
    As a young lesbian, I’m so happy to see that there is actually people who don’t believe in trans stuff. All my other IVL friends think that all of this is true, and support trans, and they just don’t want to accept the truth. I tried to explain to them that no, you can’t change your “gender” like that, but I quickly gave up because I don’t want to lose them (especially my girlfriend)

    But really, it’s just so cool to see strong lesbian figures with healthy relationships, without men everywhere. Like, I read Webtoon, but most of the “LGBT+” comics are just so… Toxic.

    I admire you because you totally assume what you think and say. It’s really impressive !

    Thank you again for being an amazing person, I can’t wait for the next update ❤️

      I’m so glad you’re enjoying LB! It sounds like you’re in a very similar situation to Riley, regarding having trans-affirming girlfriend (And friends). Unfortunately, a part of coming to realise the misogyny/homophobia of trans ideology is realising you cannot save everyone. Even with all the statistics and evidence in the world you can’t convince them. I hope that your friends and girlfriend come around but know that you can have and do deserve friends and a partner who don’t believe in misogynisitc, homophobic things.
       

      True friends (and romantic partners)’ love is not conditional to you pretending you also support their bigotry.
       

      And yeah, eesh. Webtoon is an interesting place lmao. Unfortunately most webcomic sites are like that now, trans stuff everywhere, no actual lesbians!!

    Oh no I just realized that my hair is dyed almost the exact same color as Blaire’s 😅 I didn’t even think about it, I’d just been wanting to dye my hair pastel lavender for nearly a decade now and finally got around to doing it and just now while I was thinking about Leasebound made the connection 🙈 well I guess somebody has to reclaim colorful hair back from the gendies 🤷
