    Rusty, this isn’t fair. I’m not good with symbolism. Why on earth is Blaire’s rose red instead of pink? Her and Riley’s rose aren’t even CLOSE in color. What does that mean? Rusty, why are you running—

      Okay actually this one was just an aesthetic choice. I use very limited colour pallets. So the pink of the rose is the same as Blaire’s hair (other examples: Violet’s skin matches Riley’s hair, Jaden’s skin matches Riley’s freckles – helps with consistency across pallets so no matter how bright or pastel or dark those things carry over).
       
      I did originally try the rose using that pink but because it’s the same as her hair, it got completely lost. So instead I chose to use the darker magent-y colour which matches her lips. Closer to red than pink, but also closer to pink than white 😅
       
      The reason for making the roses the colour of Blaire’s hair was also to tie her and Riley’s outfits together no matter which dress colour won the vote I held a while back. Since I knew first place was going to be ruined by Timothy and second place would be worn by Blaire.
       
      You can rest easy on sleuthing this one 🤣

        Noooo! I thought Blaire used “they” meaning “The Yonique Staff” (I’m not a native speaker). Also, she was at the apartment when they discussed Ari, did she already forget who she is, or the TRA brainwash is just that strong? ; _ ;

          It definitely happens IRL. Had a scrote “they/them” my cousin at an anime conve tion after I’d already referred to her correctly.

          I thought that too, bur then I noticed she said ‘a walkie talkie’. If it was the whole staff it would be ‘walkie talkies’, plural, so no doubt about it – Blaire they/themed her ignoring what others who know her said earlier 😭 gendies really respect no one but themeselves huh

      In my language ‘they’ means exlusively plural, so I didn’t even notice until your comment whacked me over the head with it….

    Wait… 🕵️‍♀️ if Ari is walkie-ing a member of staff to fill in as a dancer and of all the staff on duty tonight Shez, Parniya and Jaden are currently the most flexible (since everyone is here now and Ruth said she wanted 3 ladies on the door at least until everyone arrived) and if anyone is ganging up with anyone it’s Shez and Parniya… the mystery dancer is Jaden!? 🤞🤞🤞

    Ahhh… I’m so worried about the rose symbolism!!!! It makes so much sense to have that happen in universe, but also… from a story perspective, the possibility of someone starting with one color and ending with another….especially after the whole symbolism of Riley and Blaire not matching colors bc of that creepy dude ruining her dress… I’m nervous!!!

    Love Ari’s lil >BD expression. Methinks her and the gang were conspiring to get Jaden out on the dance floor for her first night back to help ease her nerves lol.

    Calling it now, Riley switches out her rose for the singles’ rose after fighting with Blaire and tries to joke about it, but everyone just feels sorry for her. 😭

        Oh no, it’s possible. The flowers are just a visual indicator of who’s single and who’s not, so ladies can know who is and isn’t fair game to flirt with.
         
        Ruth implemented it as a means to make that clear, because plenty of women showing up to this are likely looking to meet a girlfriend. Saves some heartache.
