➡️Website Woes

The site has been down most of this week. I’ve been in multiple calls with my host, mostly being told there’s nothing they can do and I need to pay extra money to fix it, paying that extra, then being told actually their service doesn’t cover my issue I need to pay some MORE money for a different service that miiiight fix the problem on a subscription basis one time a year, and finally getting in there and wrangling it back together myself. This did include needing to restore a previous version of the site, which is why last week’s update is no longer there and some comments have disappeared. Needless to say, no updates on Chapter 14 this week, lol.

I made a post on YouTube about it (couldn’t even access the backend that’s allowing me to make this post right now) when I was at the lowest point of the ordeal and thinking the only way out was nuking the site and starting over. Probably should have waited another day on that one, but it has lead to some changes.

I’m in the process of finding a new host, and while the site isn’t going anywhere, I am going to be downsizing a bit. Things like translated options are going to be moved to a download rather than being stored on the site. I’ve also taken down the LB Extras to make some more room as well, since I don’t think many people looked at them anyway.

Dealing with this definitely killed the motivation high I’d been riding, but hopefully this week I’ll get my groove back. The video is at about the 25 minute mark, again with the tail end of the final scene to go, as well as a little visual for the credits and an after-credit gag. Keeping my eye on the prize (you gyns enjoying the hell out of the update when it drops).

Hope you’re all well, and thank you for your patience.

While it’s really irritating that your host has been yanking you around, I’m relieved to see the site back up. When I saw the repeated site errors, my immediate worry was that you’d been DDoS’d by someone with an axe to grind; this issue sounds like it would be relatively easier to surmount than someone technologically attacking the site. Glad to see you got up and running again! You have fought tooth and nail to keep Leasebound online for women to read and discuss and it’d be such a waste for it to be brought down by a poor host.
