Parniya’s fit says “1950s greaser fixing up her performance car”, her fitness says “throws men into the ocean”, and body language says “take no shit.” Maximally cool and intimidating look (I hope she will still share her thoughts on interior decoration).
How is Deidre pronounced? Also, this American reader wonders if her hat and style of clothes are associated with any kind of women’s churchgoing look in Australia. I look at it and immediately see “Sunday best” with a side of the understated sparkle and silhouette that reminds me of British royalty. (Though it looks way harder to move in than what Parniya is wearing. Also Andre’s khakis-and-polo are still technically the same level of formality yet he looks like an IT guy? Well, Blaire did offer to have her dad look at Riley’s computer…) I think it’s the hat; I only remember seeing those formal-looking wide-brimmed hats on older ladies when I was a kid being taken to church.
If it’s not clear, I’ve really been enjoying the character’s outfits and styling over the last two chapters. Poppy and Nelly both wore great outfits to ballroom night (might have a weakness for clothes color-coordinated with dyed hair), Jaden’s impromptu formal clothes were charming without being stuffy or “wearing” her (the shoes were my favorite part), and Blaire wearing Riley’s PJs with her natural face and hair looked so cute and relaxed and had a great color harmony.
Is there a reason why Andre looks so sketchy (in a literal sense) compared to everyone else? Or have you not yet finished his sprites lol
