Hey, I like your art and story so far, I just wanted to clarify something? At first, when those guys were trying to get in, I figured the idea was they were obviously men pretending to be trans women so they could creep on the women in the club because they did seem really suspicious. However, after that explanation if what a trans woman is, it seems like you’re actually trying to say that real trans women aren’t actually women. Is that the case, or am I reading into it?

You’re not reading too much into it! You cannot be female and be a transwomen. It is an exclusively male experience. Otherwise what would they be transitioning to?
With the concept of self-identity very popular in trans circles how do you determine who is “fake” trans and “real” trans when the only qualification is how an individual feels?
Is it how well/willing the individual is to perform sex stereotypes (aka wearing make up and feminine clothing to show they’re a woman)? Is it how much time/money that’s been spent on cosmetic surgeries to emulate the appearance of the opposite sex?
One of the points that the Agpgang as characters are intended to critique is the idea transactivism pushes that anyone who says they’re a woman, is a woman. A woman is an adult human female. Transwoman is a misnomer. You can’t actually change your sex. You can’t become a woman if you were not born female.
Whether the Agpgang pass, Whether they’re pretending or genuinely have dysphoria and believe they’re women, even if they were incredibly polite- they would not belong in a female-only club. Especially in the context that is for lesbians. Women exclusicely attracted to their own sex.
Having been confronted by men obviously appropriating lesbianism like such and then getting violent with lesbians for defending themselves— fuck, it is all too accurate and I thank you for writing stories that accurately reflect a lesbian’s experience with trans women.
I’m so sorry you were put in a situation where you had to confront men like that, truly :(. Having only dealt with their virtriol online myself, I can only image how much more terrifying it would be in person.

I grew up hearing nothing but jokes from straight men about how they’re lesbians because they love women and it honestly had me so confused from such a young age about my own sexuality because surely if being a lesbian was a real thing it wouldn’t be such a joke for the men in my family right? I think of my girlfriend’s little sister, who’s about to turn twelve and everyone can tell that she’s gay, finding out from the internet that straight men have found a way to commit to the joke, and it makes me feel sick. She deserves to grow up in a world where being a lesbian just means being female and exclusively same sex attracted
