Finally Josie gets to sleep.
Also team Nana. You would not believe the things I had to say about my dad’s family after he died for almost the exact same reason. No calls, no visits, no acknowledgement of my (or my sisters’) existence until right before he died. The good father/terrible extended family pattern holds up lmao.
I get *why* Josie doesn’t want her eight year old to have to come to this realization about half her family, because that’s a lot to put onto a kid that young, but like. Nana’s right.
