I love Jaden’s expressions and that she’s getting so many compliments. The realization that her and Riley are pressed so close together is 🩷💜💙🩷💜💙💖💖💖!

It’s refreshing to see just the two of them and no one else interacting again. Fresh, refreshed, and the obvious start of something More between them!

And GODDDDD do I love apostate Riley so much 🤩🤩🤩 I’ve had to listen on mute cause I’m at work but I’m curious if she got a cool.music cue to go with that shot cause its so 👌👌👌

As for the new format: Tbh I prefer the comic pages to video and I hope you will post the stills/more simplified pages from this vid.But you need to do what’s best for your health and I imagine drawing a bit less will at the very least let up on the stress on your hands/arm. But that’s just my 2 cents over here in the usa!

This was incredible!!! The new format worked great, was easy to follow, loved the integration of sound effects. I’m gonna be dying a little waiting months between updates but each update will be a feast and obviously this working better for you as a format is really really important.

WOW!! I am in LOVE with this format!! It’s like a video game cutscene lol sucked me right in and the dialogue was the perfect speed (if it was too fast I could just pause it lol). You came back with a bang 💥💥💥💥🔥

poor riley… she has so much internalised self hate 🙁 she really is being held together by tape, i cant wait to learn more about her… also that cliff hanger is crazy, iii really hope blaire has enough tact not to interrogate her gf for her sudden terfy-ness considering she just passed out like girl she has gone through ENOUGHHH 😭😭

as for the format, i dig it!! i havent played a lot of visual novels but its charming, the text speed was fine btw!! i love the little sound effects when riley takes jaden by surprise its so cute

Really glad to see Leasebound is back, and loved this update! Riley was super funny here, I did feel secondhand embarrassment for her though. She’s going to be feeling this one tomorrow… And all the talk about how Jaden was ‘perfect just how she is’ was adorable, but must’ve weirded poor Jaden out to hell since she’s so blissfully unaware of Blaire’s creepy crusade to Trans her, lmao. Desperately hyped to see wtf Blaire’s going to do next too, now that Riley’s finally started to stand up to her. My prediction sadly is that she’s going to chalk it up to Riley being drunk, refuse to reflect on anything she said, and continue doggedly ahead with her weird and inappropriate behavior about Jaden and Faith. -_-

I’ve got mixed feelings on the new format. I did really enjoy it here – the dancing was fun, and the little text boxes were a great way at getting a lot of dialogue across without having to constantly draw new pictures with Jaden and Riley’s talksprite-esque expressions being a cute and effective way of getting their emotions across. Between that and the music and the scene in general, you really killed it here!

I’m not so sure about using it for all pages from now on, though. Animatics are great, but my heart belongs to comics… And you do so well with paneling etc and making a cool-looking page. My attention-span isn’t the greatest, so I’m a big fan of being able to just quickly glance at a page to reread it and double-check the dialogue – watching a video is a much bigger investment of time. I also worry about Youtube suddenly terminating you and potentially leaving you with a bunch of deleted videos that will need to be reposted and hosted elsewhere.

The Youtube thing could potentially end up introducing new people to Leasebound which could be cool, but it also means that TRAs and trolls will be able to comment whatever crap they like freely…

Ah well – regardless what you choose to do, I’m just glad that the story’s continuing! If this format works better for you then I’ll adapt. Hope you had a great Christmas, Rusty, and thanks again for the update!

Yeeees, it’s back! And holy smokes, look at all the views it’s already gotten. Nice! This update felt like getting an important cutscene, and I’m so here for it. I’ll certainly miss the comic format, but I’m also excited to see how you’ll use the video format going forward.

I loved the new format!!! I think it brings all the characters even more to life! I think the pacing is good! Any faster would be awful, any slower would be bad. I enjoyed that we now have music, and some movement! Keep going like this and experimenting! I do wonder, will you keep updating the story here? Because otherwise I’ll have to check youtube xD! I’m happy youre exploring new things for your comic, but this really is not it for me. I would be very happy scrolling through the stillframes, however! I read way too fast for a cutscene format like this unfortunately 🙂 It is your art so it is you who makes the decision but I do hope you decide to post the stillframes eventually. Loved this comic so far !

I remember you saying something about how Jaden was originally made for a visual novel idea you had, and this style really reminds me of a visual novel!

i know insulting you isn’t going to do anything. whether i do or don’t insult you, i will get flooded with downvotes and called slurs probably, and i highly doubt this comment will change anyone’s opinions on my right to exist so i won’t bother.

i’m fucking fourteen and watching people like you depict my friends and family (and me myself, as i am transmasculine) in the ways you have is genuinely fucking disheartening. i shouldn’t have to defend the existence of my girlfriend, siblings, and myself to complete fucking strangers. they’re kind people going through horrible things right now with little to no support system, feeling completely lost in their own lives and bodies, and they have never once acted anything like what i’ve seen in this comic.

i know complaining about how i have to defend myself is stupid when i never had to write this comment but i want you to know that truly, from the bottom of my fucking heart, you are hurting people and people will die. i will die and so will so many of the people that i care about because of the complete lack of empathy you, your followers, and so many other people have.

maybe try actually talking to some trans people instead of assuming they are all predatory and acting all combative. you might find out that the majority of us are normal fucking people.

but you won’t.

so go ahead, make more caricatures, refuse to challenge your beliefs, support the destruction of someone just because they’re different from you, get important healthcare taken away, call me a slur, watch the suicide rates of other kids like me skyrocket. you’re doing great.

love the new format! i do just worry a bit about having the videos hosted on YouTube, and reader potentially losing access if YouTube decides to nuke you. are you planning on uploading the videos (or maybe static images) on the website somewhere as well?
