A new foe has appeared 😅
Are we sure Shez isn’t half Saiyan (Raditz’ hair and all)? You would no doubt be able to create an excellent lesbian shonen if you tried. <
Also man Chris is so dead, looking forward to seeing his head crushed by a giant rock.
How heavy is that rock? Is Shez on her way to being able to lift Chris?! Since she didn’t just lift it, but she moved it a fair distance, she’s getting stronger than she might’ve initially realized, which is great.
I Hope Chris fears for his life.

I’m glad Shez became so strong, but I’m so sad she didn’t needed to. It’s so unfair. She’s tough and wonderful 🥲♥️
There’s always another, heavier rock to lift…
I usually read LB on the bus to work and don’t really have the time to write insightful or soulful comments BUT I have some festive time off and I’m a few beers deep lol so I’m gonna write a proper essay here.
This chapter has just been great, a lot of the content has made me sad and angry (as it’s supposed to!) but watching Shez resolving to help her family and growing stronger as a result is heartwarming and genuinely inspiring (long story short I first signed up for self defence classes so I could gain the courage to stand up to repulsive men in my life. Thankfully none of them were as foul as Chris but it made it feel more personal.)
Also Meriam is now my 2nd favourite character, I cannot fathom what she’s been through and I hope I never will, but I have nothing but the utmost love and respect for her as a person and how she seeks to keep her daughters safe. I just wish she never had to 😥 Her and Shez’s care for each other makes even the roughest moments bearable.
I also think the art in this chapter is some of the best yet, every page is its own small story in terms of how the characters and wording are laid out. Better artists than me have already said this better 😅 I also love the colouring, definitely a more visually interesting choice over black n white.
tl;dr this chapter is FANTASTIC and I love Shez and her fam to the Moon and back, also Happy New Year everyone ❤️💚
I will also add that there’s been a couple of times recently where I’ve yelled at my phone while reading this chapter on the bus and got some weird looks but I don’t care 😁 blokes can do it about the sports, I can do it about the lesbian comics. Seems fair to me.
