    So since Tiffany decided Jaden is a tif too, Blaire has now gone directly for he/him poor Jaden ToT
    Also way to completely ignore that your girlfriend has a question and actually WANTS A DISCUSSION BLAIRE and making it all about yourself and your “unperfect allyship” and not even letting her voicing her concerns.
     

    It really shows how disconnected from people Blaire is in the end, she is capable of reading the room and being empathetic but it seems these qualities have pushed her to the extreme of it that her own perception of things is the right one and that people just must be smashed more or less gently into this perception of hers.
     

    Kinda curious about Blaire’s backstory that made her a villain now tbh, what gave her this push to be the perfect “helper”, how her “helping” others is a proof of her worth ?

    Misgendering is a crime worse than murder that we gotta pay actual money for, but also if we say you’re trans then you’re trans and we get to call you whatever pronouns we want even though we asked you directly and didn’t get those pronouns from you. Blaire please. I know you *have* a brain, just use it for eight seconds. Stop forcibly assigning genders to people.
     

    Poor Riley though. She doesn’t even get to ask her question, and while she wasn’t actively speaking at the time, I’m really getting “kissing you to shut you up” from that kiss at the end.

    To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Lease Bound. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of feminist theory most of the jokes will go over a typical reader’s head.

     
    There’s also Riley’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into her characterisation – her personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE.
     

    As a consequence people who dislike Lease Bound truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Blaire’s existencial catchphrase “We have to be good allies,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Sheila Jeffreys’ Gender Hurts.

     
    I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Rusty’s genius unfolds itself on their phone screens. What fools… how I pity them. 😂

     
    And yes by the way, I DO have a Lease Bound tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

    I am highly enjoying Blaire’s villain arc and I know she’s only barely started it.
     
    It’s interesting that Blaire sees how the Trans pitch didn’t land with Riley and instead of thinking “well maybe I seriously misread the situation with Riley” thought “I was right but I did that wrong” and views Jaden as a second chance to, I guess “do it right this time” would be the right phrase. And I wonder if she’s doing it to prove some kind of point to Riley and double down pushing *her* into trans-ing.
     
    I’m looking forward to the big storm more and more with each update.

    Once with my boyfriend who claimed to be a demiboi, and then again with my ex who was a transman. (I dont want to say boyfriend as thats just not true, but also dont feel comfortable saying girlfriend cause I was very new to being out as gay as opposed to bi and it would feel like being shoved back in the cloest for making a mistake)
     

    Honestly how common this is is not talked about enought. One good kiss is all it takes to leed you down like a sappy puppy

      It is something I wanted to touch on because I feel like it affects gay people in a unique way. Obviously there’s lots of straight relationships where they have very little compatibility outside of sexual intimacy, resulting in them staying far longer than their relationship would have lasted otherwise.
       
      Being in a same sex relationship adds the element of scarcity. Our dating pool IS just that. A pool. Finite. Droplets even. Because our pool is scattered far and few between.
       
      Who knows when you’re gonna come across another SSA person you’re decently compatible with.. Best just try to make any one who DO find fit as long as possible, lest you face isolation.
       
      I see a lot of young lesbians so desperate for a girlfriend, so convinced dating another woman will fill the loneliness they’re feeling, that they’re completely willing to overlook compatibility.
       
      Riley had a very controlled upbringing, and Blaire is her first and only girlfriend. Not hard to imagine how she’s become more and more entangled in this relationship 🙁

    Blaire is such a snake omg. She reminds me of my sister’s friend in college: really manipulative, but always wanting to be “the good guy” no matter how badly she acted. It gives me chills. Excellent portrayal. I’m amazed that somehow, Riley will get the courage to attend up to her. She’s in DEEP (though Mr. Tim would be a galvanizing force because DAMN)

      Mmm I’m not saying this because I’m moved to defend Blaire, but…I don’t think that is really what’s meant with her character. She can’t be a snake if she truly believe herself to be doing the right thing. Even now she believes herself to be relieving what she believes to be Riley’s worries: her messing up Jaden’s gender journey instead of her messing up by introducing Jaden to something she has shown no interest in partaking with.

      She absolutely thinks she’s doing right by Riley. Down to assuming that Brick was correct about Riley being “insecure” in her “gender identity” and that was what Riley wanted to discuss.
       
      Based on that assumption she’s tried to be vulnerable/express remorse (“I what I thought was best at the time”), and assured Riley that Jaden’s “gender identity” doesn’t have to say anything about Riley’s (even tho, Blaire herself believes Riley is secretly trans but unwilling to admit it).
       
      In her mind she’s being a reflective, supportive, patient girlfriend who loves her girlfriend no matter how much she’s “in denial” of being trans.
