    I love rushing here every release day, to be met with a painful page, and then doing again it next release day!
     

    also wtf chris, again forcing a dynamic of a mother stepping in to have harm come to herself, to redirect it away from her children.

     
    it will be brilliant the day they reach freedom, and miriam never has to do that sort of self-sacrificial thing against an abuser ever again.

    I feel just as bad for the others, though – imagining their terror and guilt over what’s happening, especially poor Meriam. She must be feeling she’s once again failed as a mother and protector…

     
    While we know that this story is being told by the triumphant Shez who managed to save her family, I’m really hoping that Meriam gets a chance for her own catharsis as well. ;_;

    He doesn’t even pretend to care. I think that what strikes me the most with this page – he finds his own kid hurt on the middle of the road in the middle of nowhere and not only doesn’t care, but doesn’t even pretend to. Because she’s not a person. None of the girls are, nor is his wife. They’re just props he’s decorating himself with.
     

    Meriam’s desperation here is not only obvious but also really, really understandable and justified. But it’s still heartbreaking. She knows what he’s like but that’s her baby, so she’s putting herself between him and her baby. Poor her. Poor all of them. I hope they’ll be free soon. Once they’re out, I’m going to wrap them all in soft blankets and bring them tea.

    it was nighttime when i saw the thumbnail for the page so it looked like chris was actually trying to strangle Crystal because i was delirious and thus i panicked so much. him grabbing her arm so rough that it makes her scream isn’t really much better, but it’s less… nah it’s still just as fucking evil but moids gonna moid
